Edit1:
Seems this is a problem with bluetooth in general. I found the following article from the steam forums about bluetooth headset problems in GTA V. It might be worth a read to shed light on any problems your having.

- Battlefield 4 Online Population History for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS 4, PS 3, and PC!
- I have joined the Battlefield 4 open beta and I am having some problems with audio. I am using a laptop to play, and the game's audio is coming through the main speakers rather than the headphones, despite the fact that I have the headphones plugged in. Audio from other applications come through the headphones as you would expect; it is only.
Battlefield 4 Audio Issue: No Gunshot / Footsteps / Explosions Just applied the Battlefield 4 Jan 30th update and it seems to have broken the audio in multiplayer. Basically I have found that for the first round (TDM in my case) I have to play with no gunshots, footsteps, explosions, etc. Alongside this, we have Battlefield 4’s Killcam not correctly showing who killed you, laser sight dots getting stuck, jet cannons inexplicably not damaging other jets, the lack of ability to cycle through teammates spectating on a Defuse match, and the ever broken borderless window mode.
There’s a problem with Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 where you get no sound if your playing with a bluetooth headset. After a bit of googling and research i found the solution;
1. Goto; control panel->Hardware and Sound->Devices and Printers
2. Select Properties on your Bluetooth headset and go to the services section.
3. Uncheck “Handsfree Telephony”.
Note this works on Windows 10 cant say if it work on Windows 7 or 8.
TheCakeAnarchyI have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and I would like to avoid that if possible. I have gone into my OS playback and nothing worked.
See this thread for possible solution....

I don't have speakers so I don't really know. I think I have an HDMI. And yes I am in game right now and I checked the settings and I made sure to hit save.
